What I got from Saussure is that basically rules are different now, they are changed. At first I assumed they were talking about how some rules in society are just definite, no one questions them they are followed with certainty. But as a read more into the paragraph I learned that was not the case; according to Derrida the rules in fact can be bended or broken. This made me think of every day rules in society that I see people breaking all the time. Saussure talks about trends, something that is going on in our society in todays world. New trends come about every single day, and no one can stop them. The people control these trends based off of trends that have been set in the past. Derrida says that structure has a center, and we are that center. Our actions base structure in society with its trends and rules that have been embedded into our society.
